MY FAMILY

Stephen --- The love of my life!!! My best friend!!! My Companion!!! My Advocate!!! God absolutely knew what he was doing when he put us together. Stephen loves so deeply and he cares so much. It is hard for me to find the words to describe just how much he means to me. This is a man who had no paternal guidance, no consistent examples in his life, yet became the most wonderful husband, an excellent father and strong provider. We met August 15th -- 33 years ago, and together we’ve seen so much, lived many places, traveled, met so many great people, and had three unbelievably amazing kids. We've laughed and cried together and I Love, Like and Adore Stephen Jones even more and more everyday -- It almost seems impossible to love someone that much. Lord, thank you so much for Stephen -- I am truly blessed.

Savannah --- My Firstborn!!! My sparkling blue-eyed, excitable, creative, little darling. She captured me the first time she looked at me. I have been given the privileged opportunity to watch this young girl become an amazing young lady. She is loved by so many and it is amazing to watch God's favor rest on her and her husband, Jonathan as they "do" life together.  She has become a precious confidant and a valued friend that is so wise beyond her years. As I write this today she is 16 weeks pregnant! A baby! Wow! My baby having a baby! Our first Grandchild! I am constantly amazed at my Savannah; she is such a beautiful person and such a beautiful young lady! Lord, God when you blessed us with Savannah, the world got a little better! Thank you, Lord!

Ian --- My precious boy! My peacemaker! My dear son! I remember being so afraid to have a boy; I knew how to relate to a girl, but a little boy? Sure enough though, he stole my heart. As a little boy he was so adorable (still is, but..), we just never knew what new thing he would build, what new passion he would reveal, what new song he might compose in his young mind. His musical ability is truly beyond me, and I know he will do great things with it. He is gentle and quiet (most of the time) -- I guess we are similar that way. I feel very connected to him -- so much at times that when he is happy I enjoy it so much, and really feel it almost physically when he is not. I cannot wait to see how God is planning to lay out his life using his gifts and strengths for a career, and whom He will provide for him -- that perfect young lady. The future is so big and open; I see so much potential for Ian in that future.  So exciting to watch. Lord, I dedicate my Son to you! Guide him to do great things! I appreciate this special young man in my life!

Kelsie --- My beautiful, sweet baby girl! This one never wanted to be my baby, but she will always be my baby! She has brought so much joy into my life and this family and apparently many other people as well. I know we named her Kelsie Alayne, and that is a beautiful name, but it might've been more appropriate for her to be Kelsie Joy! So social, such a beautiful and caring person and strikingly gorgeous! She has a certain kind of strength too, that is impressive -- I am pretty sure she got that from her Dad. And so talented -- as many others can attest, she is a very good actress with the most unique, jazzy voice that completely captures you when she sings! I Absolutely love it! Although she is just beginning to have her independence and discovering her direction in life, I know that she, like Savannah and Ian, is truly destined for greatness! I love her very much! Lord, guide and show her wonderful things that she does not yet know! Thank you for her!

Jonathan Wallace --- Married my Savannah over 3 years ago.  If I was given the mission to search the world to find the perfect someone for my sweet girl, my path would have led me straight to Jon. He is a precious young man with great character, a strong faith in our Lord and IS the perfect match for our Savannah! I am so impressed with his gentleness, playfulness and the attention he gives to others. He will make a really good father! I am so grateful that Jon is a part of our family. He truly is a Godly person with a servant’s heart. I love him. God you truly knew what you were doing when you brought Jon into our lives! Thank you!

  1. Shirley, I went to school with Stevie and I have enjoyed keeping up with him through Facebook. It is so obvious how much he adores you and his family. I love the way he refers to you as "My Shirley". My husband does the same with me....it is so endearing, isn't it? I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers and will be checking your blog often. God Bless you and yours throughout your journey.
